NEW! Easter Revision Courses

GCSE Maths Crash Course - Wimbledon

New for 2023, I am offering a two-day GCSE Maths revision course during the Easter holidays.

Tuition will take place at my base in South Wimbledon on Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th April 2023.

The course will run from 10am-4pm over two days and will cover some of the tough topics that cost students marks in GCSE maths exams as well as exam and revision techniques.

Numbers will be strictly limited to six students per course. Given sufficient demand, I will schedule an additional course.

  • Two full days (10am-4pm) with breaks
  • Small class (max 6 students)
  • Higher level (HL) GCSE Maths
  • Suitable for all major exam boards
  • Includes exam and revision techniques
  • Full mark solutions modelled
  • Student practise and feedback
  • Materials provided

This course is suitable for students sitting GCSE or IGCSE maths with all major exam boards including Pearson/EdExcel, OCR/MEI, AQA and WJEC. I am happy to discuss with you if you are unsure whether the course is suitable for your child's exam specification.

The course is aimed at students who have a reasonable grasp of maths but are losing marks in mock exams on tougher questions, i.e. looking to improve by 1-3 grades.

The following topics are included:

  • Quadratics
    • Harder equations
    • Completing the square
    • Sketching curves
    • Inequalities
  • Ratio and proportion
    • Inverse and non-linear proportion
    • Combining two different ratios
  •  Geometry
    • Surface area and volume of compound shapes
    • Using Pythagoras and trigonometry in 3D problems
  • Circle Theorems
  • Vectors
    • Vector proofs and problems
  • Probability
    • Using algebra to solve tougher problems
  • Histograms
    • Estimating median, quartiles etc.
  • "Last questions"
    • A review of some of the styles of difficult problems frequently featured in the last question on a maths paper.

The cost of the course will be £350 per student. This will include tuition, materials and refreshments.
