Online Tutoring

Online tutoring has seen a huge rise since over the past few years, accelerated by the closure of schools during COVID lockdown.

Initial misgivings have given way as the quality of online tuition has improved dramatically with its popularity. Indeed, in a recent survey by Bramble, the majority of students, parents, tutors and institutions found online tutoring as or more effective than in person tutoring. The majority of students say they will continue to use online tuition after lockdowns end.

I have extensive experience with online tutoring and am as comfortable teaching online as I am in person. I use a writing tablet and other tech such as interactive smartboards to recreate a classroom experience. I am comfortable with Google Meet/Classroom, Zoom, Skype, Bramble and all major platforms.

Online tutoring may be of particular interest to international students who cannot otherwise access English-speaking tutors with experience of the UK schools system and examination process.

Other benefits of online tutoring are to eliminate students' (or tutors) travelling time, reduce time spent on setting up and packing away as well as allowing more flexible lesson scheduling. As a result, more content can be covered within a single hour. Lessons can be recorded and searched at a later date. Furthermore, students often report feeling more relaxed and engaged during online lessons.
